Photo 118: Office building on the river

I have no idea the name of this building. Also, Jason has me on a black and white kick, but with how grey and nasty the sky is the past month, it does add to it.

Photo 117: Beer (and faux Tron)

Inside union station and with some fun post-processing… Yes, its overdone, but I have a new toy, I didn’t know how easy this was to do in Aperture.

But I also like this Tron take on Marina Towers, but it didn’t take the number one spot:

Photo 99: ROCK! aka photo class results

I took a great DSLR bootcamp class today at the Chicago Photography Center and taught by Matthew Gregory Hollis.  That class was fantastic and I really enjoyed Matthew as a teacher.  I learned a lot, which hopefully will translate to better stuff for me to share here.  The photo above was the my favorite from today, but I’ve attached the two close second place entries for my favorite for today.

Photo 88: I never thought I’d be on a boat

While its still cold enough that I’m not biking but taking the Chicago Water Taxi, you’ll get some pictures from the boat.  LIKE A BOSS.

Bonus pictures that I want to share, but didn’t fully work for me:

Photo 69: Chicago from cab

Not happy with the sky blowing out here, but I like the buildings lining the river, but you not actually seeing the river.

Photo 68: Father-in-law

Today I’m trying a non-traditional camera source for the photo of the day: my TiVo. My in-laws were at the game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning down in Tampa Bay.  My father in the law is the dude bending down to grin behind the Hawk’s assistant coach, Mike Haviland.

Even though there was a camera man on the other side, I’m calling them my photo of the day because of having to find the right shot, and do a bunch of post-processing to make it look halfway decent.  This is a LOT cleaner than the original image.

Bonus image of my FIL trying to flash a peace sign:

Photo 47: Chicago river

It was really nice today, so I took a walk.  I thought a shot down the river would be fun.

bonus snow photos

I took the best shots from around the house and block and put them on flickr.  Okay, now I think I’m done sharing the whole snow thing.

Photo 33: ToDo #4 – Day 3: Mid-blizz

Day 3 of:

4. Randomly pick a window in your house and make photographs from and through that window everyday for a week

It was still coming down, but it looks like most of the fun is close to being over.  But, man, look at this picture compared to yesterday’s.

I’ve added two bonus pictures of an epic drift against one of our windows and the view out our front window.  Our driveway has already been cleaned once, but check out the wall of snow at the end where the plow hasn’t come by. Also, the picture looks foggy, but that’s snow falling.

I also just added a picture of my Mom sent me of her neighbor’s house.  Crazy drifts.
