Obligatory Apple Store Pictures

Over at my dept’s blog at work, we posted the pictures of our trip to go see the freaks people waiting outside the apple store.

Parallels Desktop is smart

Click for Full size!I’ve been using Parallel’s Desktop for OS X since it was first available. I just got my upgrade to the latest version. One of the things this version includes is the ability for the Mac to have the C: of windows (when running in a virtual machine) shared to the Mac like any other shared drive.

It looks like Parallels really has a good handle on code resuse since they based it on MacFUSE (which is based on the ideas and API of Linux’s FUSE. Its great to see cool open source technology being used like this rather than companies reinventing the wheel. Anyway, that was my geek excitement of the morning.

The Gyro Melt

cndgyros1a.jpgAfter weeks of telling me that I should go, I finally gave into Liz’s demands and tried out the gyro melt at CND Gyros at 205 E. Grand Ave. Basically, it was a patty melt (which is NOTHING like a cheeseburger, Ian!) with gyro meat. It may be one of the best things I’ve had all month.

True, I’m not getting out much, but it was pretty damn good. It is now dangerous for me to have the knowledge of the gyro melt, as I now crave it and it will cause me to gain the weight.
